So, who am I?
That’s a great question. I’m a Information and Communications Technologies professional.
I used to work for Senior Internal Systems Administrator at a network infrastructures company, that used to be called INAP - modern-day HorizonIQ, located in city of Montréal, Québec, Canada. Their Canadian operations were acquired by a Dutch company called Leaseweb in 2021. I have since left the organization to pursue other opportunities around DevOps.
My work at those two organizations consisted in building and maintaining the company’s internal infrastructures, as well as documenting and monitoring them. It also consists in providing employees 2nd and 3rd level technical support they need for the hardware and software installed by my department.
In 2023, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in IT Engineering from the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). I did the degree as a personal challenge to learn more on my own field, to progress as a professional, and to help me become a better contributor to my field and to the world.
Outside my IT work and my studies, I love discovering new places, to travel and I listen to a bunch of podcasts.
Why this blog?
The reasons why I decided to start this blog, back in 2014 to share my findings and tips for other System Administrators and people that use computers in general.
I also wanted to post my opinion on news that are grabbing my attention, as a Canadian. And I’ll try post reviews of some cool software I may find.
Unfortunately, other priorities made me choose to concentrate on other areas of my life, and this blog hasn’t been updated since 2015. It will no longer be updated, although it will be online for the foreseeable future.
Why MoiMeme.ca?
Back in 2012, when I registered MoiMeme.ca, I needed a name for my personal server at iWeb, and I searched a simple name for an email address, which represents me.
MoiMeme.ca itself comes from the word “moi-même” in French, which means “myself”, and .ca which represents Canada on the Internet.
By using the name MoiMeme.ca, I can’t have anything closer to representing myself, than “myself.ca”.
